Many people who come and shop in our retail store, don't know we also handle event and wedding planning, interior design and retail windows. Well...we do! And, we love working with our clients to bring to life their vision of the perfect day, night, space or window. 

In this blog, we will cover wedding and event planning.  We handle wedding and event planning for everything from a small interment dinner party to a large full scale event/wedding for thousands of people.

Davey Johnson Celebrity Invitational


This charity event weekend benefited Lighthouse of Central Florida and included a list of A List celebrities and sports stars who donated personal items for silent auction, participated in the golf invitational and attended the many events to support the cause.

The event took place over the holidays and featured an actual horse drawn sleigh as the main focal point.

Holiday Party at Private Residence

An annual tradition for this client, their holiday party is always a must attend event with over 300 people in attendance. 

We handled every detail from decorating the residence for the holidays (Including 12 Christmas trees), to planning and executing every aspect of the party.

Megan and Ryan's Wedding

This beautiful couple had us fly all the way to Michigan to work on the florals and decor for their special day.  It was an action packed weekend to get the wedding reception space ready for the over 300 guests.

The wedding was an awesome memorable event for Megan, Ryan and all of their many guests.  A special thank you needs to go out to the incredibly talented photography of Carrie Cathleen Photography.

The British are Coming

We pride ourselves at ZaZoo'd on having the most unique home decor, furniture and gifts. Many often ask us, how do we create the pieces we have in the store.  Well, in this blog we would like to pull back the curtain and share how ZaZoo'd  re-imagines a piece of furniture into a work of art.  

We have a bit of a unique approach to our furniture selections. We don't only re-imagine antique pieces...we  re-imagine new pieces as well. It is all about keeping our store offerings one of a kind.

For this project, we started with a new classic chesterfield sofa. Most people who I discussed this idea with thought I was crazy to paint such a high quality brand new leather sofa! I would tell you...it's all about having a vision. With a clear vision of the end state, you can accomplish anything your set your creative mind to. 

From there, I armed myself with a level, a white china marker/grease pencil and my vision  I sketched out my design utilizing the straight edges of the level and the buttons as my guide until I had the design the way I wanted it. 

Then came the real test of my creativity and steady hand. I began to paint free handed...starting with the white. The initial start can be really scary, especially when you consider the sofa sells new for $2500. retail. But, you just have to jump in...feet first if you are ever going to realize your vision.

After allowing the white to dry, I them began to freehand the blue and red. Probably the hardest part, was getting the paint into the buttons and creases. Just use the pressure of your hand to stretch the leather while maneuvering your paintbrush into the folds. 

Once the three colors were painted, I allowed them to fully dry overnight and applied a second coat in the morning.

I was already loving the look of the piece at this point but, wanted it to look more aged and fitting for the style of sofa.
I then distressed the paint by removing some with a wet cloth. From there, I finished off with some medium brown wax. 

I love the end product and would not change a thing about this new unique piece of art!

Getting ZaZood for a Great Cause!

ZaZoo'd had a great time on March 15th designing a VIP Dining Experience for the Habitat for Humanity event...Blueprint.

The theme of the event theme was ArtScape and we designed our VIP dining room around an artist's pallet.  To do this , we transformed a 6 foot round hotel table into an oversized pallet.  Then, each guest's place setting became the dollops of paint on the pallet brought to life with fresh roses.

We also placed a wine glass full of paint and paintbrushes at each setting and an incomplete piece of art at the back of the dining room. As the evening progressed, the guests at the table were encouraged to finish the piece of art for the Habitat for Humanity organization. 

We had a great time and so did the lucky party of 10 who were selected to sit at the table. Now they truly know what it is like to Get ZaZoo'd.

A community celebration of all things local - Localtopia was a great event!

ZaZoo'd was honored to be asked by Keep St. Petersburg Local to participate by providing a VIP Seating Area for the event. We had a blast participating in the well attended event and look forward to participating again next year.
